Death brings war veteran Paul Gudenkauf at Worthington
Paul Gudenkauf 34 a World War II veteran was found dead in the family car in the Worthington garage on Saturday morning April 14 He was born February 17 1911 on a farm near Hopkinton He survived by wife Lucile and three children Richard Wayne and JoAnn among other relatives Funeral services were held at St Pauls Worthington.

60th Anniversary for Aitchisons in Cascade Township
Mr. and Mrs. A W Aitchison of Cascade township marked their 60th wedding anniversary on April 8. They wed April 8, 1885 at the bride’s Cascade home and have lived nearby all 60 years. A family dinner followed at their son A Fletcher Aitchison’s home. Elaine O'Brien and M/Sgt. Joseph Graham were wed at St. Martin's Church in a double ring ceremony last Wednesday, with Mrs. Ray Carr and William Graham Jr. in attendance. The couple plans a Miami Beach honeymoon as Graham reports for duty April 24.

Jones county cattle led the Thursday sale at Chicago stock yards with A. G. Rohwedder of Wyoming sending a 26 head drove of Hereford steers. They sold without sorting at 17.65 per cwt, averaging 1140 pounds, bought for eastern shipment as prices rose to a new high.
