Herbert Cox buys the Howard Day Texaco oil station a home and adjoining land near Cox Implement Co with possession set for May 1. Day family has operated the station for 29 years and have just purchased the Martin Petersen residence in Wyoming. Cox leases the station to Phillips Oil Co.

George J Smith home hosted Louis Schafer and children for Sunday supper. Thursday afternoon Mrs Ray Meier and Kurt with others drove to Marion to visit Mrs Irv Gerks and see her new son Eric EARLA. Dunlap spent several days in Rochester MN for medical care. sister Grace Talbot of DeeKalb IL visiting. Mrs Harold Anderson and Mrs Harlan Williamson accompanied Talbot to Dunlap’s. Mr Dunlap to report at Rochester hospital for further treatment. Mr and Mrs D Clair Wheeless of Mason City were weekend guests and attended funeral services for Mrs H S Pierce. Mr and Mrs Dale Wheeless of Clinton were Monday guests. Mr and Mrs William Lang and Ronald attended the Tuetken Emerson wedding at Mt Vernon. John Hart, Hopkinton senior pre medical student at Loras, was one of three chosen to present papers at the Illinois Iowa Undergraduate Science Conference in Rock Island.
