Ross R Mowry Republican candidate for Iowa attorney general visited Anamosa on Friday evening and Saturday. Charles Lazio returns to Anamosa to open a confectionery and fruit shop in the Holt building east room, with soft drinks ice cream and will carry fruits. he plans a Saturday opening. James Jensen, formerly in charge of Niles & Watters Savings Bank under O A Conwell, is appointed by the state banking department to take charge of the two closed banks at Maquoketa and will leave for Maquoketa on Monday. Charles Thorpe, 93, of Delaware county died in Manchester last Sunday. he had lived there 78 years. Funeral services were held in Manchester yesterday.
