Minnesota Introduces Warba Early Potato Variety
Warba, an Indian word meaning early, is a new potato variety from the Minnesota agricultural experiment station. It is about ten days earlier than Irish Cobbler and better adapted to Iowa conditions than Bliss Triumph. The seed is being dyed by Iowa dealers and certified seed lists are available from the Minnesota Potato Seed Certification Department in St. Paul. Chippewa and Katahdin are newer USDA varieties tested in Iowa but have deeper eyes and rougher surfaces and are later than Irish Cobbler.
