Reserve Township public schools opened Monday September 5 1921 with a large enrollment. The high school reports 109 students including 68 in senior grades and 41 in junior grades. Grade 6 has 31 pupils and total enrollment stands at 274. Teachers are prepared. book supply is generally prompt. parents show interest and cooperation is urged under the new attendance law for ages 7 to 16.
The Cook family met at Mr and Mrs O N Hendersons home for their annual reunion. Forty eight attended and brought baskets for a noon dinner. Despite rain everyone left happy and plans were made to return next year at Herman Smiths home.

A Saturday program lists Edith Roberts in The Fire Cat and a Century Comedy with Wanda Hawley in Her First Elopement. Christie Comedy and Hinograms also shown, rounding out the cinema lineup.
Pola Negri, Continental Star, appears in the epic Passion portraying the famed little French milliner known as Mme. DuBarry. The two day engagement runs Wednesday and Thursday, September 14-15.
West Union residents report social visits with the Causer, Causey, and Swaim families. School opens with good attendance while farmers along Sugar Creek struggle after a flood-damaged corn crop. Birth announced for Marion Maxine Morgan born Aug 31 near Waveland to Cecil and wife. Osborn family returns to the community for the school year.
Labor Day tie game moved to the local ground at 8 pm drew a fair crowd. Mecca led 4 to 1 after five innings, Montezuma tallied late, and a heated argument over a pitched ball call ended play with three on and none out in the seventh.
The Waynetown ball team will play Montezuma this Sunday on the local diamond. It promises to be one of the best games seen here and the home team hopes for strong support. Game called at the usual time.
A man described as feeble and suffering asthma was seen at The Enterprise office Monday morning requesting an old newspaper. He then headed toward the C. & HK J railroad and around 1:30 pm a man matching his description was struck and killed by the No. 1 southbound passenger train just north of Newport.
Edsel B. Ford announces another price reduction averaging about 70 dollars below previous levels. The cuts apply to Ford cars and trucks with prices tied to Montezuma offerings rather than Detroit pricing as seen in some ads. Large production enabled the decrease.
Last week a string of local residents visited relatives in nearby cities. Dicken and family spent time in Logansport and Terre Haute while others, including Miss Harper and Mrs. Hann, visited family members and friends. Several households noted travel to Indianapolis and Chicago for visits and hospital matters.
Mrs A G Kay and Mrs Irvin Henry of Sign Cole called at Kohr Saturday en route to Clinton. Mrs Henry is an aunt and Mrs Milligan Young on Stanley Greencastle and Mrs Bert Hall Bloomingdale were guests of John Pickle's family. Miss Myrtle Conklyn visited Clinton Sunday then will teach there. Miss Mae Elliott left for Indianapolis to resume teaching with higher pay at her long time school.
A humorous town snippet describes the Hon Herder anger over Old Stupid the Prize Book of the Universe moving to a neighbor's New Garden. The neighbor vows a Grace platter at Sunday dinner as tensions rise, while chickens and children are likened in playful analogy.
Teddy Anderson of this place faced Geoif Qudry of Jasonville in a wrestling match and was defeated but showed creditable defense. Orville Morgan heads the town boxing scene with a strong claim to belt. Preliminaries featured boxing and baby wrestling with about seventy in attendance.
Donald Ree and family moved into Richard Bailey s property on Wednesday. A home coming is planned at the old Ridge church east of Sylvania next Sunday. A medicine show is in town all week on a vacant lot opposite the Aikman store. Fred Murphy returned from Terre Haute to visit his mother Mrs. R. C. Murphy. William B. Carty had an appendectomy in Terre Haute and should return home within a week. Four auto accidents occurred Sunday with minor injuries and damaged cars. The river rose Saturday and Sunday endangering corn but fell Sunday evening as melons and pumpkins drifted by, later retrieved by locals. Mrs. B F Pitman fractured her arm and bruised her hip while mowing and crossing the walk.
Mrs R G Murphy renewed her subscription to The Enterprise on Monday for herself her father W E Meeks of Cataract who turns 92 on the 8th and for her son Fred in Terre Haute. The paper thanks her for the generous support and presents.
For sale a four room house with 38 lots including a garage, wood and coal house and other outbuildings all in good repair. A well and a young orchard are on the property. Inquire at Enterprise Office.
R T Bailey advertises a sale of a sideboard a dresser fruit jars jelly glasses a small phonograph and records at the residence. Call at residence.
