A jumble of names and places shows families visiting relatives across Clinton Bloomingdale Ridgefarm and nearby towns. Several couples and children are mentioned with no clear event beyond social visits and weekend get togethers.
The Youth's Companion and Indiana Historical Commission chose Fort Sackville’s fall as a major state event. Frederick C. Yohn, Indiana born, painted the scene for the October 11 cover with accompanying text praising Gen. George Rogers Clark for capturing Vincennes and shaping the Old Northwest of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Supt Jolliet visited here last Monday. The consolidated school enrolled 359 pupils on opening day. Mrs Sarah Miles Owens died in Marshall last Friday. Mrs John Underwood returned from Darlington after a cousin’s death. Walter B Murphy and Mrs Vina Murphy are home from Columbus Ohio. Clarke Lewman resigned as Mecca schools manual trainer coach for electrical work at Meavport. David Woods of Chicago spent part of the week with relatives here. Mr and Mrs A S Russell of Montezuma visited Armiesburg.
A forthcoming Enterprise serial set along the Wabash in the Forties and Fifties follows a loyal brave Hoosier and his group of friends and rivals. The neighborhood drama blends romance, courage, humor, and harsh nature, rooted in Indiana life and settings familiar to local readers.
The annual session of the Wew Indiana Conference the Methodist Episcopal Church closed Monday after several days. The Rev. Whitenn Wan returns in charge and is well liked though people are reluctant to see him leave. Rev. W. E. Bailey is assigned Bloomingdale and Marshall, Rev. KE.T. Miles returns to Fairview Park, and Rev. A. W. Smith has the Dana charge.
The Industrial society invites members and families to a Saturday picnic at the Morris home in Bloomingdale. Husbands and families are welcome. Activities begin about 1 PM departing from the Clark residence.
Morning service at 11 o clock and evening service at 7 o clock at the church. Members are urged to attend and all are cordially invited. A welcome is extended to you.
Sir and Mrs Oscar Blacketer and Ralph visit Mrs Win Blacketer’s family in Terre Haute. Thomas Hann of Chicago visits his parents and Mrs Smith Hann. James Jackson visits in town. Florence Treslar and mother travel to Growders Corner. The Heslars plan move in with Leet Graham's Wisconsin family. Homer VanHook and family spend Sunday evening in Cayuga.
Mrs. Samuel Spears of Ridge Farm Illinois and her nephew Will Lusster of Marion were guests of Harley Scott and family Tuesday.

Lunch at 1130 sale begins at 1200. Sellers include Charlie Isely Grant Bonebrake Elbert G Palmer and Charles P Coats.
A collision and a fall injured a young girl and a boy at a busy roadside stretch. The girl suffered a double forearm fracture and multiple bruises. Dr. Dooley treated her at home before transfer. The same day at Hillsdale school a boy named Wilson fractured his arm on a teeter board.
Mr. GL Hedricks of Coloma traded a 160 acre farm for a 150 acre highly improved farm near Ouak land Illinois last week. Zeisz and Vickroy, real estate dealers at Hindsboro Illinois, were the agents who arranged the deal.
