Baby Margaret Brown Dies at 1 Year in Hillsdale Home

Margaret J. Brown, age 1 year 3 months 17 days, fell ill at the Hillsdale home of Pranky and Elizabeth Brown. Funeral services were held at the residence Saturday afternoon with burial at Oakland Cemetery.

Young People Get In Trouble Over Weekend Prank

On November 15 1919 four town youths abducted two local girls Rosa Williams 16 and Gladys Flowers 14 in a Houchin car. They reportedly registered in Hume Illinois and stayed overnight. The boys returned home Sunday while the girls were later located, and the youths were arrested in Roexville facing serious charges.

Early Monday morning the two boys were taken to Rockville and questioned by Prosecuting Attorney Earl M. Dowd. They were released on bonds of 700 to await arraignment in circuit court, with possible federal charges. the girls involved were too young to understand the implications.
