James O Moore of Indiana and Kansas Mason Father obituary

James O Moore son of William and Ellen Moore was born June 30 1859 near Wilkins Mill Indiana and died January 28 1923 in Coffeyville Kansas at age 63. He married Anne Tucker on January 28 1883 and had seven children. A lifelong farmer and active Mason he lived a life of service and his funeral was held at Bloomingdale M E church conducted by Rev Hopper and Rev Whitson.

Death of Harry W. Machin a Montezuma youth

Harry W. Machin born December 7 1905 near Montezuma Indiana died March 16 1923 at 11 00 AM aged 17 years 3 months 9 days He was a student at Montezuma High School in the 1th year of Junior year and active in athletics including two years on the basketball squad Survived by parents Daniel W and Josephine L Machin a sister Mrs Fay Wheeler a brother Fred W Machin and grandmother Mrs Anna Machin The funeral was held at the M E Church Sunday at 2 00 PM conducted by Rev J C Whitson and attended by a large congregation The obituary portrays him as a bright loyal cheerful and helpful youth respected by community members

Remains Laid To Rest In Bloomingdale Cemetery

The remains were laid to rest beside his sons in the family lot at Bloomingdale cemetery. He leaves behind his widow and children, five grandchildren, three great aunts, Mrs Wilson Hadley of Bloomingdale, Mrs Lewis Starnes and Mrs Charlie Starnes of Hillsboro, plus many cousins and friends.

Joel Church 72 formerly of this place died at daughter Mrs Lawrence Harvey’s home near Tangier after a period of failing health. Death attributed to hardening of the arteries. Funeral at Friends church Tangier with burial in Oaklawn cemetery. Survived by four daughters Mrs B Lindley Clinton Mrs Caleb Pickard and Mrs Lawrence Harvey Tangier and Mrs Chas Fortner Montezuma.
