The Short Horn Breeders Association discusses creating a calf club in Parke County giving ten to fifteen breeding heifers to youths ages twelve to twenty who sign notes for purchase. Rev. J. A. Legg, a Christian Church minister and former Parke County preacher, died May 7 at his daughter's Chicago home. He served as a Civil War soldier and preached across Indiana.

Obituary Loretta Wark Dies at 26 in 1919

Loretta Wark daughter of Mrs. Mary Kaufman died at her mother's home June 4 1919 at age twenty six after months of illness endured with patience. She leaves a mother two sisters four brothers and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 00 PM Tuesday at her mother's home Reverend BE Williams officiating burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Christian Church Undergoes Repairs and Improvements

The Christaan Church is undergoing repairs with a new chimney top, interior decorations, painting, and varnish to enhance neatness. The old roof has been replaced, and after interior work is finished the lawn will be mowed and cleaned. The effort reflects good spirit among the members.

Stolen 1917 Studebaker Belongs to Charles Vestal

Charles Vestal, of a farm northeast of town, reported his 1917 Studebaker touring car stolen Saturday while he was in Indianapolis. He had left the vehicle parked there and discovered its disappearance at noon. Police searched and a reward offered, but no trace had been found by press time. The car is valued about 1000.

Miss Buckly of Brazil arrived Tuesday for a brief visit with Miss Hannah Craft. Bert Garrard and family and Miss Coy Moss of Danville visited Perry Jareds Floya Miles and family of Newport visited his mother Mrs Fary Miles. Mrs R W Johnston left for Greencastle for commencement. Ralph Purcell and son returned home after visiting Mr and Mrs John Davis of Brazil.
