Concannon High School defeated the local team 33 to 17 on their home floor. Johnston led the winners with four points from the iron hoop while F McMasters starred for the locals despite a tough night shooting.
The Parke county high school fives gather at Bellmore Gym for a six annual tournament on Feb 16 17. Matches include Montezuma against Tangier and Rosedale versus Bellmore with a late night slate and finals set for 8 PM. Earl Keller reports.
Dr. Southworth visited Indianapolis on business Saturday. A daughter, Lois Jene, was born Feb 8 to Mr. and Mrs. BE Marshall. Dayne Williams travels to Angola New York for work. Parke county educational workers held their monthly meeting Friday. Robert Summers and dancer Ruby Ester visited the Hebers near Coloma and returned to Waupella Illinois on Monday.

The Presbyterian church schedules regular morning and evening services next Sunday with a 11 oclock morning start and a 7 oclock evening start. Members are urged to invite neighbors and friends and to support the church through attendance and outreach. Special music is planned with local and visiting ministers including Rev Clark and Rev Martin with Prof Case to appear. Rev Clark will be away part of the week.

Henry Conrad a Civil War veteran died at his Hillsdale home Sunday night. He served in an Illinois regiment and was well known in the community. Wm. K. Guy and family of Indianapolis visited Mr. and Mrs. Marion E Guy. Before leaving town, Mr. Guy bought property where Marion Guy lives and plans to move by May first and build on lots across the street.
