Fern Kuhns daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Kuhns was born April 7 1914 and died December 12 1922 at age 8 years 8 months 5 days She was one of eight children and fell ill with diphtheria on December 1 before passing away twelve days later

Ed Smith and Charles Brown were arrested Saturday night on Main Street for drunkenness. They pleaded guilty in city court, each fined five dollars plus costs. Smith, found with a bottle of liquor, claimed he bought it from a Terre Haute man and could not pay the fine, sent to Newport to serve fifteen days in county jail.
