Obituary of David Shirk aged 80 in Montezuma
David Shirk died after a short illness on August 16 1912 at age 80. Born June 5 1832 in Oxford Ohio he lived in Montezuma since 1840. He married Maria Colestead in 1852 and Charlotte McDonald in 1876, both prior spouses passing away. He was a Baptist in faith, a former grocer and lifelong farmer. Services were held August 17 at his home with Rev C E Beebee and he is buried at Oakland cemetery.

Tragic Death Of Five Months Old Downy Child
The five months old son of Mr and Mrs Downy died on Thursday August 15 from summer complaint. The family lives in the south part of town and the father works for the C H D railroad. Funeral services were held at the parents home Friday afternoon conducted by Rev Davis of the Montezuma M E Church. Interment followed at Oakland cemetery. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved parents.

Death of Vermillion County farmer Edward Rounds
Edward Rounds of Highland, Vermillion County, died Wednesday morning at his home from heart trouble. In his sixties, twice married, he left a large family. The body was taken to Indianola for burial Thursday at 2 p.m. The Enterprise extends condolences to his wife and children.
