State library plan expands traveling libraries across counties
In a small city library room a state official praised a plan to circulate one library for every two in the county. Originator of the plan cites its success in a dozen counties where traveling libraries now operate. The commission would aid county book selection and management with virtually no cost beyond books and boxes. The state would supply books in all languages. At the county farm the cold storage house needs repairs costing about 1200 dollars to allow a new storage plant to be built with the heating plant, and the committee will review this while visiting this afternoon.
Free vaccination urged for state school children
The state board of health issued a bulletin advocating free vaccination for school pupils. No local action has been taken yet, but there is no opposition expected. Two years ago during a smallpox epidemic the city vaccinated schoolchildren free of charge and if adopted the health officer in each city would likely oversee the vaccination.
