Marie is attorney general, Edward Wildley of Patupaw state land commissioner, Delas Fall of Albion superintendent of public instruction, and James H Thompson of Oscoola for state board of education. Bliss, a long-time candidate, has historical ties to 1892 and prior campaigns.
June reports detail small mounted clashes near Senekal with five Boer commanders and Dreiner. three wounded and ten killed on June 26. A Hamilton column advanced toward Frankfort without opposition. Ras captured to disrupt Rustenburg efforts. over 4000 rifles seized. Plus Henderson renominated for tenth term in Congress. lightning claimed Frank Lengers in Hamilton Ohio.

Treasurer M F Dunlap Jacksonville. Attorney General James Todd Cook. University trustees Schwartz Marion Bliss Hillsboro and Mrs Lulla Holmes Smith Chicago. The platform endorses the Chicago platform, condemns trusts, and urges Bryan at the national convention. The Prohibition State Convention nominated W V Barnes for governor Henderson for lieutenant governor Radford for secretary Stone for treasurer Rewan for attorney general and trustees Bl yira Stewart Clary Harford Bitlinger. In Manila a detachment of the Fortieth regiment was ambushed June 14 with nine killed and ten wounded.
Diaastroos Raine reports heavy daily rain in Birmingham and surrounding areas, totaling 241K inches since April 1, far above the normal near 48 inches annual rainfall. Farmers cannot work for weeks as fields flood and crops die. cotton suffers most, while fruit and vegetables decline.
A severe drought breaks with heavy rain and lightning across a 150 mile radius around La Crosse Wisconsin. In La Crosse a church was struck and destroyed by fire while the Hotel Goodard survived without fatalities. Manila releases leaders after oath amid American sovereignty acceptance. Destructive windstorms hit Des Moines Iowa with crop damage and injuries from a dwelling collapse in Whiting. Dust box explosion at Standard Starch injures six workers and a boy, with one victim feared dead.
In St Paul Minnesota on June 25 aged 81 Tenry Vivehout believed oldest railroader alive died at his home. His railroad service spanned decades with no accidents recorded.
