Jacob Steinman Called by Death
Jacob Steinman, a renowned contractor and builder of Montes, Wisconsin, died after a prolonged illness of nearly four months. Born in Zurich, Switzerland on November 20, 1820, he immigrated to America in 1834 and established a major composing career in construction, shaping many local landmarks and churches. Survived by his wife and four children, his funeral at St. John’s Evangelical Church drew a large crowd and was followed by burial in Greenwood cemetery.
