A Monon railroad wreck near Greencastle Indiana Saturday night involved a passenger train and a freight train. Mr J H Eaton and his wife were aboard with Mr Eaton seeking damages while Mrs Eaton was unhurt. The crash stopped quickly after a freight car blocked the impact and no fatalities occurred. The engine burned and passengers were moved to Greencastle then onward once tracks reopened.

Anrew Bechtel of Cadiz died of heart failure aged about 66 and his funeral was held in Brown town. Freeman McAlister of Charles City died at 11 30 am on December 18 1908 at nearly 73 after chronic bronchitis. She was born in Perryville Indiana April 4 1842 and moved to Charles City in spring 1879. She married Freeman McAllister in 1877 and leaves a large circle of acquaintances. Her sister Mrs Martin and daughter Mrs Ellen Judges were with her at death.
