Wisconsin to consider prison binder twine plant plan

The Wisconsin legislature will review a proposal from the state board of control to install and operate a binder twine plant in the Waupun state prison. The plan rests on a November investigation, mainly of Minnesota’s Stillwater prison, and follows a 1905-6 joint resolution directing such a study.

Mortuary notice for Helen Holmes Charlton of Brodhead aged about 66. A poetess and author long associated with the Brodhead Independent, Wisconsin Equal Suffrage editor, and wife of Edward H. Brooklyn Store Fire Claims Incendiary Cause

A Brooklyn mercantile store burned out early Monday, presumed incendiary after a safe was blown open and robbed. The fire damaged the three month old building on the main street. a crowbar stolen from the Northwestern Railroad was found at the scene. Sheriff Durst seeks a mysterious stranger seen in town days before the blaze and missing since.
