DAR to Meet in Monroe Public Library Program Spotlight
The Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday September 4 in the Monroe Public Library. Christie Strait will present The History of Col Benjamin Harrison Chapter DAR. Upcoming programs include Teaching Neonatal Resuscitation in Uganda by Georgia Ditzenberger on November 5 New Stained Glass Windows by Matt Figi on February 4 and a surprise program by Marion Howard on April. Young Professionals Golf Outing Draws Large Monroe Turnout
The Green County Young Professionals held their fifth annual Golf Outing at Monroe Country Club on July 26. The nine hole scramble included mini games and participant prizes, attracting more than 55 players. The group was founded in 2007 and promotes local networking.

Big Brothers gets grants for campus mentoring program
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County receives funds from the Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund and the Monsignor Thomas F Campion Special Projects Fund of the Monroe Foundation. The grant supports a bus sponsored school based mentoring program in the Monroe school district starting Sept 9 with weekly meetings on early release Mondays from 2 15 to 3 45 pm.
