Maquira Q. Stokes, 30, may face more serious charges after a head on collision south of Brodhead that killed 81 year old Antone C. Grawehr. Investigators say no charging decision will be made until the crash probe is complete.
An 82-year-old Rock County man recalled a berry picking day in 1947 when he and a friend saw a fresh burial site after a shout from a man on the property. The man, then 16, said Georgia Jean Weckler, abducted near her family farm outside Cambridge on May 1, 1947, was missing. Authorities dug an undeveloped lot in Janesville last week but found no remains.

Gary L Buholzer 70 of Montello formerly Monroe died August 11 2013 at his home. Born February 19 1943 in Monroe he served in the Army National Guard 1964 to 1970 and retired as chief inspector of quality control at Advance Transformer in 1999. He married Janet Kraut August 12 1966 in Rockton IL. He enjoyed woodwork fishing bowling golf euchre at the American Legion Montello Rod and Gun Club and was a Packers fan. Survived by wife Janet daughters Marla Petit and Patty Hammons grandchildren Holly Brandon Gary Brock and a great grandchild. Twin brother Larry Buholzer sister Sharon Campbell and many relatives. Funeral 11:00 am August 16 2013 Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home burial Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation August 15 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Roland J. Winn, 76, of Monroe, died Monday August 12 2013. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
