Gratiot Kitchen Fire Closes Local Bar Two Weeks
A kitchen fire over the weekend forced GRATIOT A bar and restaurant in Gratiot to close for about two weeks for repairs. Firefighters were dispatched to Une's Nixon House at 10390 Bridge St. Saturday at 6:37 p.m. Deputies from Lafayette County and the Gratiot and Warren Fire Departments investigated the scene. Cause of Monroe house fire undetermined at 1909 13th Ave
Fire at 1909 13th Ave in Monroe Wednesday July 31 caused about 40000 in damages. The bedroom fire started at 11 16 am and was contained to the bedroom within eight minutes with smoke damage throughout the home. No injuries were reported and Red Cross was contacted for the family. Fire crews remained on scene about two hours aided by New Glarus firefighters Alliant Energy WE Energies Monroe police and Public Works.
