A general strike order calls 35000 workers to halt duties Saturday morning, signaling a coordinated labor action across industries. The announcement stresses mass participation and potential disruption to daily operations.
Chicago reports that shopmen on the Harriman lines the Illinois Central and the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley railroads will strike at 1 am Saturday, following a final statement from J W Kline president of the Blacksmiths' Union after a conference with five affiliated union presidents.
In Kansas City on September 29 a conference between union leaders led to issued strike orders. Fifteen thousand carmen and five thousand boilermakers are affected by the action.
The Illinois Central workmen strike spreads to the water front with one hundred New Orleans Freight Handlers Union members walking out. The local union acts independently of the national body. Fifty negro laborers at Harrah shops join in sympathy. Twelve arrests for contempt of court connected to the temporary injunction.

A court refused to hear her account and ordered a not guilty plea as prosecutors consider exhumations, though chemists doubt poison traces remain after a year.

Walter E Flanders third vice president of Studebaker and general manager of E M F announced purchase of the Ford plant on Piquette Avenue Detroit occupying a full block between Piquette Tromley Brush and Beaubien with 150000 square feet of floor space The deal makes E M F owner of two square blocks and enhances capacity and expansion potential with plant No 10 to be equipped with new machinery.
The Monroe Progressive League's membership committee met to plan a drive to enlarge the organization. Members A Baer Jr George Landwehr R Downes Jr and Albert Marks conference urged local citizens to support welfare work for Monroe West Monroe and nearby areas. Masur Goldmax & Company Limited quickly subscribed 60.00 per year.
The flights at Forsythe Park will run tomorrow and Sunday afternoon between 4 30 and 6 30 oclock.
The Flanders concern purchases the Ford plant in Detroit to expand capacity as it plans 50 000 cars for 1912, with 30 000 Flanders 20s and 20 000 E M F 30s. The suit targets the Colorado Wyoming Lumber Dealers Association and claims a central Chicago bureau controls about twenty states with penalties for noncompliant dealers. Indictments against sixteen secretaries and related associations have been brought in Chicago under Sherman law.
In St. Joseph Missouri James Finnegan aged five mistook peach seed hair tonic for whiskey and drank a pint. He died soon after in agony.
