Six Drown After Explosion on Mississippi Power Boat
Six men perished when the engine room blast on the power boat Reliance forced all aboard to leap into the Mississippi River. Rescue crews saved John Antivitch and seven crew, while four unidentified roustabouts and Gus Evans died. The accident happened at Poverty Point, twelve miles above Pointer.
