An eight inch gas pipeline from seven wells in Milhaven field to Southern Natural mains at Perryville should be finished this week. Ford, Bacon and Davis reports most piping to the main is done and delivery of gas may begin next week after three miles remain to be completed including sections under highway 80 and Milhaven road. Milhaven field lies in sections 19 and 30, township 17, range 2 east in Ouachita parish.

Angola Prison Shows Financial Gain After Deficit
The Louisiana penitentiary at Angola moved from a $162,919 deficit in the 1949 50 fiscal year to improvement in accounting and operations. Tragic Drowning of Donnie Albritton at Local Gravel Pit

Texan Executed For Slaying Wife Who Left Him $40,000
Huntsville Texas September 25 Steve Mitchell 47 died in the electric chair hours after a probate judge named him heir to his wife Mildred Jean Mitchells $40000 estate. Mitchell a drive in operator designated Katherine Pappas as recipient. He wept after learning of the inheritance and said money meant little. He had claimed self defense in the Dec 16 1948 killing during a quarrel. The judge ruled the community half of the estate to Mitchell.
