Gov John J McKeithen named Shelby Hill a Monroe businessman to the City School Board succeeding J H Scogin Jr who moved to Winnsboro. Hill, 56, president of Hill Lumber & Supply and a city system graduate, will serve until the November 1966 general election. The board delayed a budget meeting to Oct 5.
