Baker national president of the Anti-Saloon League of America will tour Louisiana from November 23 to 28 visiting Shreveport Monroe Alexandria Lake Charles and Baton Rouge A state convention session will meet in Alexandria November 24 and 25 with a 7 20 p m order to hear Mr Baker The convention will consider temperance matters and league policy on legislation with A W Turner state superintendent urging attendance
Washington reports US officials monitor Mexican capital where Congress opposes Eduardo Tamariz as minister of public instruction. Huerta may promote Tamariz or Gamboa, risking a church state clash that could rally Liberals against him and push toward a unifying candidate acceptable to constitutionalists.
Mexico City dispatch reports Provisional President Huerta declares the government has no preferred candidate and will remain absolutely impartial. He spoke at Popotla while preparing a residence, promising to prevent disturbances and maintain public order.
General Huerta declares the army would act to maintain democracy if needed, insisting it serves peace and security of the republic with full freedom for parties to nominate candidates. The Catholic party held a closed convention with no public candidate announcement.

Turner allegedly deeded property to Farrell and faced possible charges as details surface of a planned murder by self inflicted harm and coerced suicide rhetoric.
