The U S district court in Louisiana dropped a federal count against Dan Edward Robertson 30 ex convict and escape artist now jailed in Monroe on an armed robbery case He had been charged with crossing state lines to avoid prosecution after an escape from Ouachita parish jail by hiding in a 55 gallon drum and fleeing through Mississippi Texas to California before capture Robertson is back in Monroe and held in a maximum security cell

Survivors include his mother Mrs. Dora Watkins Bastrop two daughters Mrs. Ben Price Jr. and Lois Watkins both of Monroe two sons Charles and Hallie Watkins both of Monroe two sisters Mrs. Audie Basham Bastrop and Mrs. Ruby Miller Texarkana Ark two brothers Willie A Bastrop and Deb Warner California and one grandchild.
Heard testified about visiting representatives from the Associated General Contractors presenting a contract to his firm requiring union contracts with subtrac tors. He said he could not decide before pickets due to lack of time for a directors meeting and could not confirm post hearing contact by others. The inquiry sought whether the firm was legally bound by AGC actions.
Federal Savings and Loan of West Monroe and Virgil Crawford Monroe bank manager pleaded not guilty to approving a false credit application. Crawford’s case will be brought up later in district court after pre sentence investigation.
Clifford Stanton and Robert E. Gentry were charged after an early morning theft at Rose Oil Co. mirrors and a steering wheel knob were taken. Police recovered five other mirrors and two hub caps under the suspects’ car seats in West Monroe.
