Central City Kentucky September 21. Eighteen injured in a crash when the Louisville and Nashville Express collided with a freight wreck on the Illinois Central line near here. Fog prevented a stop as the engine and baggage car struck wreckage. several workers suffered leg fractures and serious injuries.
Winona Minnesota September 21 Friends of Congressman Twaney admit he was defeated for the Republican nomination for Congress by Sidney Anderson. Anderson's majority will be about 2500. Anderson was an Insurgent and Twaney a Regular.
President Taft, refreshed by sleep, began receiving calls from personal friends in Cincinnati. He gave no political remarks and refused to discuss state or national politics, the New York or Minnesota primary results, or his meeting with former President Roosevelt.
