A mob of more than 100 men in cars and on horses marched on the Irvington stock pound in Mobile County. Warrants were issued for nine men, mostly wealthy stock owners, on unlawful assembly charges amid a local stock law clash between farmers and orchardists. Last week the mob tore down the pound and freed 16 cattle, with ten more released since, as deputy sheriffs guarded the stockade overnight.

Alexandria report says J T Finns No 1 well seven miles north of Pollock in Grant parish blew in with oil at 2600 feet last night. Mud was pumped to hold the oil until bail preparations. Finn, an El Dorado and Monroe oil man, split time between the city and the well and many local leaseholders will go to the scene. The discovery could greatly aid the local oil industry.
