Dynamite Blast Burns Worker Near Monroe
George Tim, 29, of Olimeta Texas, was taken to St Francis Sanitarium after a dynamite half stick exploded while he cleared a stump eight miles west of Monroe on the Tennessee Gas Company pipeline right of way. He suffered severe burns to hands face and left eye. He had been on a month’s vacation from his repair shop and was employed by Horrigan Construction Company. Witnesses said the fuse was not lit and the blast occurred during drilling.
