Margaret La Gette of Jacksonville, Florida, told police she was held prisoner for over a year in a second story flat above Theodore Economakos’s State Street cafe in Chicago. The nurse described beatings, welts, and periods when she scrubbed floors while detained, and identified the cafe owner as her captor before authorities arrested Economakos.
