Secretary E W Anderson of the Monroe Progressive League reports Monroe citizens eagerly favor a Monroe Day at the State Fair. He says hundreds will attend and the keys of the city may be presented during the event. The league plans to publicize the day once fair excursion dates are set, with other cities also offered special days.
Philadelphia report states Mother Mary Clement Superior General of the Sisters of St. Joseph for twenty two years died today at the Chesthill Penn convent of her order.
President Taft arrived in Boston from Beverly to attend the funeral services for Solicitor General Bowers. Services were held at 11 o'clock, after which Taft returned to Beverly.
