Monroe faces a worsening bottleneck at the five way cross where Louisville Avenue DeSiard Road Sterlington Road DeSiard Street and Powell Avenue meet near the city edge. State Highway Dept figures show Sterlington Road DeSiard Road and Powell Avenue funnel 5240 6620 and 1380 vehicles daily into Louisville with U S Highway 80 and 165 adding heavy west and southbound flows.
