Convict Shot To Death In Utah Prison Mutiny
A riot at Utah State Penitentiary lasted about an hour and a half. One convict was killed and two guards were held before release. The disturbance began with Deputy Warden Giles’s capture and escalated after a bomb signal from riot leader Hertel. gangster Deathridge was killed during an escape attempt.
