Langston of West Monroe died Sunday after a brief illness. Interment will be at Hasley cemetery West Monroe with Mason ic rites. He served churches across northeast Louisiana and Arkansas and founded Chapel Hill Church. He and Mrs Langston observed their fiftieth anniversary. Survived by Blanche Parker Langston widow and six children, two brothers, one sister, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Harold Polkey 23 of Westwego drowned near Golden Meadow when an overturned car fell into a roadside canal. Telly V. Stevens 50 of Metairie died near Thibodaux after his pickup struck a skidding trailer truck. A 2 year old Negro Miram Var Mall was killed near Ventress when an auto struck him as he crossed a street near his home.
Mrs. Mary Etta Muse aged 85 of 104 Ludwig Street West Monroe died Sunday at a son’s home in Alexandria after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p m in Peters Funeral Home Monroe with Rev James T Hor Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter Mrs C E Rogers of West Monroe two sons Robert Muse of West Monroe and J T Muse of Alexandria three sisters Mrs R P Nesbitt Shreveport Mrs Amma Dillard Amarillo Texas and Miss Lena D Cole Los Angeles Calif three brothers Rev Minor Cole Numas Ark Dr J B Cole Sheveport and Rev E S Cole Ft Worth Texas two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
