Tropical Storm Delia Aims at Texas Upper Coast

Tropical Storm Delia headed for Texas upper gulf coast likely to hit between Port Arthur and High Island late today. Forecasters warned 65 70 mph winds and six foot tides with up to 10 inches of rain as evacuations and shelters expanded along the Sabine Pass and Brazosport coast.

Three Pineville Residents Die In Auto Wreck

Three Pineville residents were killed in a two car wreck near Pineville at 12 06 a m. Earl James Dubroc 18 Patricia Gargenious 17 and Stephen C Trussell 23 died in the crash. Trooper Jimmy Allen and Policeman Francis Salter Jr were credited with saving Patricia Gargenious from the wreck. Francis Soileau the other driver was uninjured. Funeral services for Dubroc will be held Wednesday at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Talks Resume On United States Thai Troop Pullout In Thailand

U S and Thai officials began a second round of talks on withdrawing troops from six bases in Thailand. Initial pullout plans cut 3 550 American troops and over 100 aircraft after the August Cambodia halt. At Nam Phong most personnel departed, leaving about 1 450 troops and 64 planes for the first phase in place.
