The Road District No. 1 election across seventeen wards yielded 241 votes for the road maintenance measure and 27 against, backing property value totals of 2,782,862 to 142,430. Ward 10 gave full support. Ward 8 narrowly opposed. Police jury had ordered 130,000 in new road construction, making the referendum crucial for ongoing upkeep.
