Lincoln Nebraska September 1 The Nebraska State Fair opened today with a large crowd and the largest display in every department ever known on opening day. The agricultural display reflects the bountiful crops raised in the state this year and the horses cattle and other livestock on show exceed in number and quality any prior exhibits.
Lawyers for Thaw remain hopeful that they can block efforts led by Attorney Jerome. The defense team urges continued challenge as proceedings continue.
Brooke today learned he headed to Montreal while under $500 bail for aiding Thaw to cross the border. He is under indictment in Dutchess county for conspiring with Thaw and five others to secure Thaw's release. Detectives tracked his movement and his case is due to be heard Wednesday.
