George St Clair, 18 year old wife’s killer, is described as abnormal but sane by a physician. He testified that he thought he did right in killing his wife who was pregnant, believing she would stray from Christianity. Prosecutor seeks death sentence.
Mrs Juanita Briella 25 died at Charity Hospital after swallowing several poison tablets by mistake. The death was reported from New Orleans where the incident occurred on October 31.
Shelton Phipps, 21, posed as a modern Robin Hood in Ponca City Oklahoma intending to extort oil men for farm relief. He planned to leave $1,000 bundles on neighbors' doors after crops failed and pleaded guilty after arrest. Lew Wentz, the oilman targeted for $50,000, asked for clemency.
