In Leesville at 5 15, on a rain soaked street corner near the high school, a pair of cars collided killing Miss Terre Nichols 20 of Merryville instantly when her throat was severed by a windshield. Mrs F E Pombeouf driving one car was injured and Mrs L A Hellawin in the other car suffered hip injuries.

John Burchfield, heavily guarded, was moved to Opelika jail today on a murder warrant connected to the death of Howard Dudley a 15 year old Abanda schoolboy. Dudley disappeared after leaving a bus and was found dead about 24 hours later amid a manhunt that included Burchfield.
