Mrs W B Gregory of New Orleans and her accom shed daughter Miss Angela Gregory noted sculptress visited in the home of Miss Sara Bres last week. They were introduced to luncheon guests on Saturday when Mrs Charles M Mitchell and Mrs David Garrett entertained in their honor at the Frances hotel. Mrs Gregorys work now nation wide was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York City. Miss Gregorys bronze work is noted at the Louisiana state capitol building in Baton Rouge. Luncheon guests included Mrs G B Cooley Mrs C P Grey Miss Emma Louise Biedenharn Mrs A G McHenry Miss Sara Bres and Miss Clara Hall. Louis Stern son of Mr and Mrs Ben Stern of this city is now a member of the navy band in San Diego Calif. He was one of the outstanding members of Neville High School and received many honors during his school days. Mrs L N Larche and daughter Mrs Albert Sanders of Helena Ark spent a few days last week in New Orleans and Jackson Miss as guests of Mr and Mrs L L Langford. Members of the W R Mitchell School P T A will entertain with their annual Halloween carnival at the school Tuesday night at 7 oclock. The public is invited.

Auto and Switch Engine Collision Near South Second Crossing
Sgt. John G. Traweek of Maughan Louisiana collided with a Missouri Pacific switch engine operated by D Knight of Monroe at the South Second street railroad crossing Sunday at 12 25 p m Janet King of Rayville Louisiana the only occupant of Traweeks car was injured and taken to St Francis Sanitarium by head ambulance where doctors said she was not seriously hurt Chief Busby said Traweek was turned over to military authorities and charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
