The Parish High School senior class hosted senior guests from the school for a Hallowe en party. Hallowe en decor filled halls and dining room with black and yellow colors. After a five course dinner guests followed stringed fortunes through dim corridors as music played during the pre game activities.
Little Miss Katherine Jean Brigham marked her first birthday with pink and white decorations, pink tulle, and carnations amid a family gathering postponed from October 22 due to weather. Grandmother Mrs. Katherine Brigham shared the birthday, as did many relatives and friends listed in attendance.
Miss Nelly McCleish of Columbia and Miss Dot Pace of Riverton stayed Friday night with Mrs E G Watson before traveling to the State Fair in Shreveport. John and Edwin Theus are expected back tonight from Shreveport after a few days at the fair.
Mrs. Fred Amman hosted a Friday afternoon card party for Mrs. W P Lavin of Chicago, with fern and cut flower decor. Miss Jennie O Kelly won first prize in five hundred, a cut glass bowl, while Mrs Lavin and Mrs Joe l Downs of New Orleans received cut glass gifts. about twenty guests attended. Mrs D L Hughes visited her sisters the Misses Kornman and returned to Jacksonville Texas.
The First Methodist Church in Hearne Texas hosted the October 16 wedding of Marguerite Finnie of Hearne to Douglas K Moore of Monroe. Ushers included Dr. Douglas Edwards and B M Easterwood. The bride wore a navy velour coat suit with fur neck piece and carried a floral bouquet. The couple plan a bridal trip to Houston and New Orleans and will reside at 12 Jackson Street.
