In New Orleans A L Shushan stands accused of willful tax evasion totaling seventy one thousand dollars from 1929 to 1933. Prosecutors led by Colonel Amos W. Cotton linters totaling 9 269 000 pounds in September vs 7 031 000 in August. Italy took 756 731 pounds. Iron and steel scrap moved to 170 486 tons in September from 156 568 in August, Italy taking 40 432 tons. Copper ingots dropped to 34 661 000 pounds with Italy receiving 5 682 000 pounds. Exports of trucks and buses declined to 7 081 from 9 997.
In Vicksburg Mississippi on October 23 plans were made to float the steamer Betsy Ann which went aground yesterday with two barges carrying 7 000 bales of cotton. The vessel grounded on a sandbar above Delta Louisiana while en route to New Orleans.

Three men died and a fourth was critically injured in a crash near Lutcher Louisiana last night involving two cars and a truck. The victims include Fred Dill 27 sales manager at Donaldsonville Motor Company and Eno Landry 45 Shell Petroleum employee. Edward Cambre ? Reserve Godchaux Sugar refinery worker. Mervin Vaughn 26 of Donaldsonville listed among the injured.
