Gov. Long comments on a 35 year old graft case involving MecGittigan a New Orleans veteran accused of taking 2.90 dollars bond for alleged influence schemes. McGittigan was arrested at his home. prosecutors say funds were to be spread among four or five people to influence a son’s release from Anzola state penitentiary.
Rainach campaign headquarters for Sen. W. M. Rainach of Summerfield opened in Monroe at 612 N. 3rd. Shaw, Rainach’s campaign manager and legal counsel for his segregation committee, invited voters to visit and meet the candidate as he plans to attend from time to time. Shaw predicted Rainach would win in the second primary and later be elected, noting growing strength in the region.
