Four Railroad Men Slightly Hurt in Belleville Collision
In Danville Arkansas on October 21 an engineer and fireman and two other Rock Island workers were injured in a collision of two passenger trains at Belleville. Train 111 struck the side of train 42 taking the siding, the locomotive of number 111 overturned. The porter and dining car steward among the injured, with the steward more seriously hurt. A day coach on train 42 was damaged by the impact.

Edison Funeral Service Held in West Orange
West Orange New Jersey October 21 1931 the fifty second anniversary of the electric light inventor Thomas Edison was marked by his funeral at Glenmont the Edison home. His bronze casket was moved to the home for private services at 2 30 pm with over 400 mourners invited. Burial at Rosedale Cemetery followed the family oriented ceremony. President Hoover could not attend. Mrs Hoover joined the service along with Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone.

South bankers approve credit extension plan
