Greene Chandler on trial in Reevport district court testified in his own defense about an alleged April 18 attack on Miss Myrtle Nash near Forbing. He denied the charges and faced a grilling cross examination by Attorney General Saint as four pivotal witnesses remained to be examined.
Greene Chandler, Shreveport man, on trial in Caddo parish district court faces closing testimony this afternoon. Chandler is charged with statutory assault against Myrtle Nash, a young teacher. Dr. George Gaines testified Nash had epilepsy episodes in spring 1925 with unconscious spells, described as Jacksonian type.
Oct 21 in Minneapolis General Hospital a nurse mixed lactic acid with cod liver oil, killing a 14 day old infant and sickening eight others. The senior nurse and the assistant head nurse were dismissed for the error and reporting lapse. The infant's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Antone Laipus, were not informed due to the mother's condition. the eight others are expected to recover from burns.
In Portland Oregon Beata Withers 38 was found crammed in a closed attic trunk by her son Charles 15. She had not been seen since Tuesday and was divorced from architect Charles E Withers. Authorities note no violence beyond hip discoloration and say she recently left Portland for Seattle.
Formal demand will be made for First Lieutenant H A Lehman and Flight Sergeant Ray Francisco, held under technical arrest at Maxwell Field, in the death of F G Browder an 84 year old Confederate veteran struck by an aircraft. Sheriff Robert C Phelps said the demand will occur after Inspector General Wagner arrives from Atlanta to probe the incident as three officers and their sergeants remain in military custody.

Evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson rescinded calls for followers to stay away and invited them to attend her preliminary hearing as defense witnesses testify. She urged calm and warned against demonstrations while five defense witnesses sought to counter charges about manufactured evidence linked to her abduction tale.
Chicago report announces death of Eugene V. Debs at a suburban sanitarium near Chicago. The five time Socialist presidential nominee suffered heart disease for 25 years and neared his 71st birthday. Funeral services are planned in Terre Haute Indiana with cremation to follow in Indianapolis.
