Hannah Moore, mother of hostess Mrs. J. G. Griffin, aided by Mrs. G. L. Kenton and Mrs. A. A. Callander, notes that many beautiful gifts were received by Miss Griffin while prayers and kind words emphasized charity and goodwill.

Frances Gritin celebrated her twelfth birthday on Monday with a party at her home. About twenty five friends attended the afternoon, enjoying games and refreshments of hot chocolate cake and fruit.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Utley nee Bessie Barr were held Monday afternoon at Oak Ridge. She was sister to Mrs. D. M. Brothers and Charles Barr and sister in law of T. B. Utley, all of Monroe. Her father Rev D C Barr formerly led the Training Institute here.
Mrs Annie LaBagnmo completed a summer itinerary with two months in Waukesha Wisconsin and a three week visit to her childhood home in Lincoln She is now at the home of Mrs Ald Nelson 11d Jacksean Street Mr and Mrs L Asant of Calhoun are parents of an eight pound kitten born October 29 to be named Feanie alae

Wade arrested at Alesaider.
Wade, a chauffeur for Allen Goree, was brought back to Monroe by Deputy Sheriff BD L. Roper on a charge of stealing Goree’s 5 passenger Overland. Goree hired Wade days earlier. Wade fled toward the gulf but was found in Alexandria where he said he went to fetch his “Lady love” and planned to return to Monroe.
