Octavia Koch of this city married Miss Lonnie Cook of Minden Louisiana on Saturday night in Minden. The groom belongs to an old Monroe family with real estate on South Grand Street. After the ceremony the couple returned to Monroe to reside at the Koch family home on Grand Street.
Heavy rains in Richland parish have damaged roads from Rayville to the Ouachita line and toward Tallulah. The Rayville-Winnsboro stretch is nearly impassable with numerous holes. State Highway Commission officials surveyed the routes and plan immediate drag and gravel repairs after each rain.
Rayville notes report Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lane welcomed a son born Sunday October 18. G D Newman left News Star to join Richland Beach News as printer pressman and will move to Rayville.
