The annual community fair took place October 12 at Eros High School. Exhibits showcased agriculture products and canned foods in the agriculture room while the home economics department displayed needle work quilts dresses and other items.
Mrs Potts opened Fort Miro chapter meeting on the courthouse square with a historical sketch of Fort Miro and data collection. A letter from Congressman Riley Wilson announced a future Fort Mire site marker and a grave of a Revolutionary daughter near Ruston will be marked.
Miss Lily Mae, president of the Fifth District Oration of Women's Clubs, attended a Literary Guild gathering with Mrs. Joseph P. Brown. A two–course luncheon preceded a program in the reception suite featuring a novel review of British Agent by Bruce Lockhart and Queen's Lace by Frances P. Keyes, highlighting themes of service, vision, good citizenship and sincerity.

Miss Mary Jane Yourtee of St. Joseph married John Bollin at the bride’s parents’ plantation home with only family present. The ceremony officiated by Rev. J. D. Fomby followed a candlelit reception and luncheon in a room decorated for the occasion.
Members of the Rock club and their families enjoyed a wiener roast on Friday evening in Choudrant. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. J. A. ONeal, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Bagly, Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Kidd, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mondart, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bagwell, Mrs. C. B. Colvin, and Misses Mary ONeal and Mattie Lee Donald. The public health service pays a nominal salary to 4500 state and city health officers who cooperate in its work.
