A Muncie to Indianapolis interurban struck a truck drawn trailer carrying a drill team and guests to a barn dance, killing seventeen and seriously injuring four. The victims include Miss Opal Merriman and Mrs. Mabel Meredith among others, all residents of Indianapolis. The motorman and conductor were injured and the driver escaped. The crash occurred at the city edge, and the scene left revelers in horror.
