Monroe City Sets 1960 Taxes At 31.14 Mills For Schools
The Monroe City Council approved a 31.14 mill total for 1960 with 16.14 mills for school maintenance and seven for the city general fund eight for bond issues. Mayor Howard said the 3 mill increase funds the capital improvement bond program for streets drainage sewerage and underpasses. The council also renewed a parking meter maintenance contract final assessed street improvements on S Grand and adopted a street improvements acceptance for Parkview subdivision and renewed a pump lease with Humke Oil Co.
